Sting se apunta otro éxito con su concierto en Panamá...
El cantautor británico Sting y el salsero panameno pusieron a cantar y bailar a una entusiasta multitud en Panamá, que disfrutó por igual los diferentes ritmos que cada uno interpreta.
Blandes, que vive en Estados Unidos, deleitó a sus compatriotas con nueve canciones, dos de ellas pertenecientes a su disco más reciente, titulado 'Tiempos', y el resto eran historias familiares entre los panameños, como el inmortal Pedro Navaja.
Uno de los momentos mas emotivos de la participación de Blades el sábado en la noche fue cuando interpretó 'Patria', pues, ademas de cerrar su intervención, Sting salió al escenario con una bandera de Panamá al hombro y con ella cubrió el cuerpo de su emocionado amigo.
El gesto arrancó aplausos y expresiones de aprecio entre los 15,000 panameños que se congregaron el sábado en el Estadio Nacional y quienes acogieron al rockero ingles con el mismo entusiasmo que a su compatriota.
El ex vocalista de The Police cantó una veintena de temas, entre los que destacaron varios de su primer disco como solista, 'The Dream of the Blue Turtles', por lo que 'If You Love Somebody Set Them Free', encendió el ambiente, cálido de por sí.
Después, Sting interpretó canciones como 'Roxanne', 'Message in the Bottle', 'After The Rain, 'All This Time', 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic', 'English Man in New York', 'If I Ever Lose My Faith In You' y 'Brand New Day', sin que los espectadores dejaran de corearlas y bailar sobre sus sillas.
Varias veces, los seguidores de Sting elevaron sus encendedores prendidos mientras coreaban temas populares del cantante británico, tanto de su época como vocalista de The Police, como de su carrera de solista.
Pese a la diferencia de culturas, Sting logró una plena identificación con el público, a quien durante el concierto saludó y dirigió varias frases en español, además de agradecer emocionado la acogida y respaldo que recibió durante toda su presentación.
Además de tener que regresar tres veces al escenario, para continuar ofreciendo su música y versos, Sting cerró la velada interpretando la cancion 'Fragile' junto con Blades, quien al final anunció la intención de grabar juntos un próximo disco.

The national stadium was well treated last night with the presence of the British singer Sting and the Panamanian Rubén Blades who with the grouping Los Rabanes delighted a very receptive audience.
Blades delighted his fans with nine songs, two of them belonging to their most recent release 'Times', and the rest were the better known hits of his career including their most famous, the immortal Pedro Navaja. One of the most moving moments of Blades' performance on Saturday night was when he performed 'Homeland', because, at the end, Sting came out on stage with a Panamanian flag which he draped over the singer's shoulder and covered his body.
At 9:40, in front of an expectant audience of approximately 15,000, the former Police vocalist performed a variety of songs including 'If You Love Somebody Set Them Free' from his first solo album 'The Dream of the Blue Turtles' with which he warmed the atmosphere. He also sang 'old friends' like 'Roxanne', 'Message in a Bottle', 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic' and 'If I Ever Lose My Faith In You' and 'Brand New Day', with the audience stopping to chant them and to dance on their seats. Sting closed the show by performing the song 'Fragile' together with Blades, and they took the opportunity of the occasions to announce their intention of recording together.
