Sting's concert at the end of Oswiecim Life Festival...
Sting appeared on Saturday evening at the end of Oswiecim Life Festival. Close to two-hour concert, the former leader of the rock band The Police heard several thousand people gathered at the city stadium.
Sting performed at the festival as part of the tour "Back to Bass". The artist was accompanied by a team of five, consisting of guitarist Dominic Miller, drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, keyboardist David Sancious, violinist Peter Tickell and singer Jo Lawry.
The concert program included the British artist's songs from his solo career, as well as those of his initial involvement in the band The Police . He started the song "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You", on which he greeted the audience Polish "Good evening." Then it was time for "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic", "Englishman in New York" and "All This Time". The program does not run out of the famous songs of The Police : "Message in a Bottle" and "Roxanne."
Musicians performed songs about reckless expansion of jazz improvisations, and played for the first encore "Desert Rose" oriental sound was heard.
Sting, highly applauded by the audience, had three encores. The first encore ended together with the audience made the biggest hit of The Police "Every Breath You Take," and the show - a delicate ballad "Fragile".
Sting was the star of the fourth edition of Life Festival Oświęcim. Saturday's concert was 12 British performance artist in our country and the first in the Polish festival.
Before Sting in the final concert at the stadium Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Oswiecim credits include former Genesis frontman Ray Wilson and his team Stiltskin. Scottish artist has already performed at Auschwitz during the first edition of the festival. Polish star of the evening was Monica.
Sting (born Gordon Matthew Sumner) is a world-class star, co-founder, main songwriter, leader and guitarist of the legendary rock band The Police, winning six Grammy Awards. In 1986, the artist began a solo career, and his songs like "Englishman in New York", "Fragile", "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You," "Fields of Gold" and "Desert Rose" passed into the history of music pop.
The first edition of the festival took place in Auschwitz in June 2010, the idea of Oswiecim Life Festival is to build peaceful relations across borders, cultures and state, and the condemnation of racism and anti-Semitism. This message comes from Auschwitz, where during World War II Germany formed a camp of Auschwitz, the symbol of the extermination of Jews and Gypsies, and the martyrdom of Poles, Soviet citizens and representatives of other nations.
