Ex-Police man's set full of hits new and old...
Love was all around at the Odyssey Arena last night and most of it was directed at the 'King of Easy Listening' - Sting, who brought his 'sacred love' to Belfast.
It would be easy to make fun of the typical Sting demographic - there were more yuppies, dinkies and young professionals than on an average Saturday night on the golden mile. But there was no mistaking the affection the full-house had for Mr Sumner.
In return, the 52-year-old Geordie played a wonderful set of old standards and new favourites.
The evening started off with 'Send Your Love', an up-tempo song from the new album before the usual eclectic mix of jazz, rock and pop that Sting has made his own over the past three decades.
While the newer stuff went down well, it was the old favourites which really got the crowd going starting off with, 'Everything She Does is Magic', 'Roxanne' and 'Fields of Gold'.
By the end of the night he had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand, from fans of police through to the 2004 Sting.
