Top Korean artists include NCT127, Stray Kids, ITZY, Chungha, and LOONA
This upcoming season, a large-scale concert featuring major Korean and international artists is anticipated to deliver a message of love and support for audiences across the globe affected by the impacts of Covid-19.
‘World is One 2021’ concert - co-hosted by MBC and the international NGO, World Vision - will be held in the evening of October 30, 2021. A Covid-19 relief concert due to be streamed live across approximately 120 countries, ‘World is One 2021’ hopes to support and raise awareness on children around the world who continue to suffer from the impacts of the pandemic. Major Korean and international artists have come together to showcase a number of special performances dedicated to this cause.
According to MBC’s ‘World is One 2021’ production team, the final line-up includes the 17-time Grammy Award winning artist and British pop icon Sting, followed by top Korean artists such as NCT127, Stray Kids, ITZY, Chungha, LOONA, and WEi. International artists include the Danish singer Christopher, the British boy band New Hope Club, and the multinational pop group NOW UNITED featuring members from 17 different nationalities. Together, these artists plan to do their part in underlining the values of ‘a world that is one.’
Some of these artists will go on stage with African children, performing a special rendition of Michael Jackson’s ‘Man in the Mirror,’ accompanied by Michael Jackson’s original band and chorus. Another special performance will feature world renowned artist, Sting singing ‘If It’s Love’ - the lead single off his upcoming album ‘The Bridge’ - from a studio in London, followed by one of his all-time greatest hits.
Meanwhile, ‘World is One 2021’ concert will be live-streamed via ‘MBCkpop’ and ‘it’s Live [MDR]’ on October 30, 2021, 8pm (KST).
