These additional concerts have been added after the first leg of the North American tour garnered rave reviews:
The set pulsated though the overwhelming database of new songs, solo material, and classic Police hits. Sting is a universal story teller, built from the stuff of what they say legends are made of” - Vancouver Weekly
"'Petrol Head' [is] a pedal-to-the-metal, grungy rocker that recalls mid-career Police and that his phenomenally tight band sunk its teeth into with gusto. [Sting] was in fine vocal form all night." - Billboard Magazine
"'I Can’t Stop Thinking About You' is his catchiest song in decades, while 'Petrol Head' rocks at a full throttle not heard since 1978’s 'Outlandos d’Amour.' - The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
“Sting showcases versatility, depth and enduring rock power at ACL Live. He proved he still has the chops to deliver a thrilling set of strobe enhanced, gut punch rock ‘n’ roll.” - Austin 360
“His voice retained all of the urgency, yearning and range of his “Reggatta de Blanc” era”. - New Orleans Advocate
On the 57th & 9th Tour, Sting is joined by a 3-piece band including his longtime guitarist, Dominic Miller, plus Josh Freese (drums) and Rufus Miller (guitar) with backing vocals from Diego Navaira & Jerry Fuentes of The Last Bandoleros
Sting’s twelfth solo studio album, 57th & 9th, his first rock/pop project in over a decade, was released November 11 on A&M/Interscope Records. The ten-song collection represents a wide range of Sting’s musical and songwriting styles from the raucous, guitar-driven first single, “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You” to the ferocious, Road Warrior-style imagery of “Petrol Head” and the anthemic “50,000.” The album, produced by Martin Kierszenbaum, was recorded in just a few weeks with Sting’s long-time collaborators Dominic Miller (guitar) and Vinnie Colaiuta (drums), as well as drummer Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Guns n’ Roses), guitarist Lyle Workman and backing vocals by the San Antonio-based Tex-Mex band The Last Bandoleros.
57th & 9th is promoted by Live Nation Global Touring, produced by Cherrytree Management and RZO Entertainment. For complete tour and ticketing information visit: www.sting.com
