Bruce Springsteen will be honored as MusiCares Person of the Year during Grammy week with a tribute event featuring performances by Sting, Elton John, Neil Young, Mumford & Sons, and more.
The annual event, now in its 23rd year, celebrates a performer's artistic accomplishments as well as their philanthropic work. Previous honorees include Sting, Bono, Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin and most recently, Paul McCartney. The sold-out concert, to be held February 8 in Los Angeles, will benefit MusiCare's emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery programs.
Other performers scheduled to appear include Mavis Staples, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Juanes, Jackson Browne, Ben Harper, Emmylou Harris, Jim James, John Legend, Natalie Maines, Tom Morello, Patti Smith, Eddie Vedder and Alabama Shakes, with Rob Mathes as musical director. Jon Stewart, the host of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," will serve as host.
