Sting will headline a show at the Sprint Cup Series Awards, NASCAR tells Billboard exclusively. The performance will take place Dec. 2 at Wynn Las Vegas and will serve as the finale to a handful of celebrations that coordinate with NASCAR Champion's Week.
According to a press release, Sting will perform both a classic hit from his catalog as well as a new song from his latest album 57th & 9th, due Friday. One song in particular, "Petrol Head" has already been selected as the anthem for NASCAR's upcoming social video release, which aims to rev up excitement and anticipation for the final two races of the season and the crowning of a new champion.
Previous acts who have performed at the championship celebration include Andy Grammer, Sam Hunt, Lady Antebellum, Sara Bareilles, John Mellencamp, Aloe Blacc and Kid Rock. The performance, as well as the rest of the coverage from the event, will air on NBCSN, and the full schedule for the week can be viewed here.
