Sting in Alesund...

December 08, 2016

We are pleased to announce that Sting will hold a concert in Ålesund on the  20 June 2017 at the Colour Line Stadium. Ticket sales commence on Monday 12 December at 09:00am CET.

In the wake of Sting's highly anticipated and newly released rock / pop album "57th & 9th", and a number of sold-out concerts in North America and Europe, Cherry Tree Management, Live Nation, Momentium and Aafk are pleased to announce that one of the greatest entertainers of our time, and the man behind the world-renowned songs "Every Breath You Take" (the Police), "Fields of Gold", and "Englishman in New York," will hold a concert in Ålesund on Tuesday 20 June 2017, at the Color Line Stadium.

Along with his band, he will play songs from both The Police and from his wide solo career, at the Colour Line Arena concert. Since 1989 he has released a total of 14 solo albums, which have been honoured with Grammy Awards, Golden Globes and Oscar nominations.

"We are very proud to receive a world star of his stature. He's going to play songs from throughout his career, and we are enormously looking forward to a magical evening in June, at the Color Line Stadium with one of today's greatest artists", says Ante Giskeødegård of Momentium.

Sting has always delivered spectacular shows and gives his everything for every concert. He still tours worldwide and it’s with much pride that the concert promoters can now announce that Sting is visiting Ålesund, with his full band as part of the 57th & 9th tour.

On the 57th & 9th tour, Sting will be accompanied by a three piece band including his faithful guitarist Dominic Miller, Josh Freese (drums), and Rufus Miller (guitar).

57th & 9th, which was released on 11 November through A&M/ Interscope Records, is Sting's twelfth studio album as a solo artist, and his first rock/pop project in more than a decade. The collection of ten songs represents a wide range of Sting's musical expressions, from the guitar-driven first single "I Can't Stop Thinking About You» through to the raw, Mad Max-esque symbolism of "Petrol Head" to the epic "50,000."

The album, produced by Martin Kierszenbaum, was recorded in just a few weeks along with Sting's faithful collaborators, Dominic Miller (guitar), Vinnie Colaiuta (drums) - as well as drummer Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Guns n’ Roses), guitarist Lyle Workman, and the San Antonio-based tex-mex band The Last Bandoleros.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale on Monday 12 December at 09:00am.
