In a new three part TV series starting on BBC4 on January 17 entitled Stewart Copeland's Adventures in Music, Stewart Copeland explores the power music has to bring people together and to bond them in ways that are fundamental to our evolution and existence. His travels take him from a cave in the south of Germany, where a 40,000-year-old bone flute was discovered, to the modern-day mass singalong of New York’s Choir! Choir! Choir!
Along the way he plays with a Memphis marching band, joins a song circle led by Bobby McFerrin, deconstructs the sexiness of Relax with its producer Trevor Horn, discusses the art of songwriting with his old colleague Sting and learns how to create dance-floor unity with international star DJ Honey Dijon.
Part one airs on BBC 4 at 9.30pm on Friday 17 January and will then be able to watched on the BBC i-Player.
