"Just A Bunch Of Roadies" Transfer Hundreds Of Beds To Hospitals In Tunisia - 320 Beds Featured In The London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony To Be Placed In Hospitals...
Following the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, "Just a Bunch of Roadies," a global aid and relief efforts coalition, is spearheading the transport and placement of 320 hospital beds featured in the indelible tribute to the British National Health Service to two hospitals in Tunisia.
Over the past several days, volunteers have worked diligently to modify and prepare the beds for use. With support from Rock-It Cargo, SOS Satellite Office Services, LLC, and Project C.U.R.E., the beds will be delivered to Hospital Habib Burguiba de Medenine and Hospital de Taouine in Tunisia. Tait Technologies UK, working closely with Opening Ceremony Director Danny Boyle and his designer Mark Tildsley, ensured the beds were designed to function in medical facilities after the event.
The team at "Just a Bunch of Roadies" utilizes invaluable behind the scenes expertise in the concert touring industry in the aftermath of natural disasters. The crews who organize, manage, and staff the world’s largest concert tours put their tremendous logistical experience to good use in ongoing relief efforts. As of this morning, eight containers have been loaded and are ready to ship to Tunisia. The transport of hospital beds used in the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony is only one aspect of the organization’s commitment to global aid. For more information, please visit
