Exclusive: New ''Meet the Musician'' Podcast Features Sting Discussing Solo Career and STING 25 App for iPad...

December 21, 2011

Today, an audio podcast will be released in which Sting reflects on his enduring 25-year solo career and launches his free STING 25 ‘appumentary’ as part of the latest installment of the "Meet the Musician" podcast, available in the App Store on iPad or http://itunes.apple.com.

Sting, in partnership with global transmedia company @radical.media, launched the STING 25 app last month at the Apple Store, Upper West Side in front of an intimate audience.

The audio podcast features a conversation between acclaimed music journalist Anthony DeCurtis and Sting, focusing on his solo career, the creative process, and of course, the app itself. A video podcast is also available as a free download in which Radical Media CTO, Evan Schechtman, presents a virtual tour of STING 25.

The 'appumentary' explores Sting’s solo career, guiding users through the influences that have shaped his music, as well as his ongoing efforts as a global citizen and activist. The many facets of his career come to life through handwritten lyrics and journal entries, rare and intimate photos, in-depth interviews, and a variety of live concert footage, including exclusive all-star performances from his Sixtieth Birthday Celebration to benefit the Robin Hood Foundation at New York City’s Beacon Theatre.

The "Meet the Musician" audio podcast, the video podcast containing an in-depth app presentation, and the STING 25 App are each available for free download at http://itunes.apple.com.

Trudie Styler has been patron of the Mukti charity for 10 years. Mukti has been working with the orphanage Karm Marg to provide us with The Bag Issue. Trudie joined John Bird and Sting to host a launch for The Bag Issue yesterday in London. The Karm Marg orphanage was set up in 1997 to give disadvantaged kids in India shelter, care, medical support and education, plus the skills and knowledge to create an income and build them a better future – hence The Bag Issue bags. The bags are 100 per cent recycled and made from elephant dung.
