New York Public Television and The Police have announced that an eBay auction of once-in-a-lifetime VIP concert packages, meet n' greet and photo opportunities with the band, as well as autographed memorabilia (to soon include a complete set of The Police autographed signature instruments) is now live, and will commemorate the final concert from one of the world's most revered rock bands. As previously announced, The Police will end an era at Madison Square Garden (Aug. 7, 2008), with special guests The B-52s, to benefit Thirteen/WNET and WLIW21. Adding to this historic collaboration are a limited number of packages from The Police and B-52s that will be auctioned online through eBay in two waves, each lasting 10 days, from July 14th to 24th (Concert Experience Opportunities, Memorabilia) and August 4th to 14th (Autographed Instruments). In the weeks leading up to the historic concert, fans can bid on the opportunity to meet The Police and The B-52s on August 7 with access to each band's Sound Check, front row seats, or the chance to rock out with die-hard fans in the "Snake Pit" (Pit tickets are only available to the general public through this auction; the package consists of four tickets). Both international and domestic fans can also bid on exclusive signed memorabilia and instruments as detailed below.

The B-52s VIP Package for Four: Includes a completely private Meet n' Greet with the band, Front row seats, Rare and private access to attend The B-52s Sound Check, four one-of-a-kind gift sets of B-52s signed memorabilia (CDs, shirts, posters), and Special pre-concert dinner and cocktail reception invitations.

The second wave of the auction will feature a complete set of The Police's autographed instruments including: Sting's Signature Bass; Sting's Sennheiser Microphone and Stand (used during the 2007/2008 world Police tour); Andy's Signature Fender Telecaster; plus Stewart's Tama Star Drum Set (played at 2007 GRAMMY Awards).
