A charity auction of iconic rock photographs is taking place at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday. The auction is being held by The Print Bank Charitable Trust and sponsored by Rockarchive.com. All profits raised will be split between Shelter, Shooting Star Chase, PETA & Teenage Cancer Trust. Two of the auction lots feature images of Sting.
One is a photo of him taken by Andy Summers in The States whilst they were on tour. The other is a shot taken by Jill Furmanovsky in 1990 during the video shoot for 'Mad About You'. Both are signed by Sting.
The Print Bank Charitable Trust was founded on a donation of 30 valuable rock and roll photographs. These were given by the famous Rockarchive Collective of photographers to use for charitable purposes. All 30 images are signed by the artists in the picture as well as the photographers, and include members of Pink Floyd, The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Police, Noel Gallagher and Oasis, Kate Bush, Brian Wilson, Madness, George Martin, Lenny Kravitz, Amy Winehouse, Brian Ferry, Nile Rodgers, Chrissie Hynde, and many others.
